Crest Water 5 - Shallow Water

DocumentationEmailDiscord GitHub TwitterYouTube

This package is not required for shallow water in Crest 5. Crest 5 has wave attenuation as it did with Crest 4. This is an alternative approach for those who want next-generation features.

The Shallow Water package brings a Shallow Water Simulation to Crest 5. It can be used to achieve next-generation visuals by simulating shorelines and streams.

When simulating shorelines, the simulation can static or follow the camera. When simulating streams, the final output can be baked to a texture for fantastic performance.

Being a simulation, results depend on water sources and the terrain/geometry being fed into the simulation.

We provide sample scenes, documentation, tooltips and validation.

Sample scene selection may not include ones shown in marketing materials and screenshots.

Features

  • Simulate shallow areas of shorelines (static or movable)
  • Simulate streams with an option to baked the final output to a texture
  • Simulate shallow water generally

Limitations

  • Baking is editor only

These known limitations may be solved in future versions.

Requires Crest 5 and must meet same requirements.
